Gabe and I went to Canmore on the summer of 2013 for a day trip and it made us all excited for our (then) upcoming trip to the Philippines, where we could finally spend the day on a real beach with white sand and warm water and not a lake with small rocks as “sand” and cold water. It was an impromptu trip. We were supposed to go rafting at the Bow river in Calgary but with the recent flood, people said it might not be a good idea. So, we decided to go to Canmore for a picnic and we found a lake so even better! Also, this was the first time we tested my new GoPro Hero 2 that I bought for our Philippines trip (which we did not use much in the Philippines because the battery kept dying!).

Travel info: From Calgary, it took us about 45 minutes to get to Canmore by driving.

Expenses: $40 for gas. $0 to go the lake and have fun. $0 for the food because we packed our own lunch.

Planning a visit? Check this and this out.
