Travel Blogger of the Month: Toni Frazer from Enchanted Serendipity

Travel Blogger of the Month(1) copy

Toni Frazer is not only a travel blogger but a big film and TV buff. She incorporates her love for movies and TV shows in her adventures and shares it all in her travel blog called Enchanted Serendipity.

“I called it this because they are my two favourite words and serendipity means ‘a fortunate accident’ so there is something really enchanting about that,” she said. “My site focuses on the usual travel related content. However, I have a big passion for visiting filming locations so a lot of my content centres on this, which sets it apart from other travel bloggers.”

Frazer is a big fan of the classics.

“I love films and TV but I mostly re-watch all my favourites from the 1980s to 2000s than all the new stuff,” she said. “There is just something about a classic.”

Whenever she travels, she never leaves her laptop behind as she needs easy access to her films and TV shows.

“(The top three things I always bring with me in my travels are camera, phone, and laptop,” Frazer said. “(I am) always ready to capture what I see, and of course back it up on my computer. Plus, my hard drive is full of movies and TV (shows) so I can never get bored.”

1. Tell us something about yourself not many people know about you?
I love films and tv, but I mostly re-watch all my favourites from the 1980s-2000s than all the new stuff. There’s just something about a classic.

2. What is your blog called and what sets it apart from other travel blogs?

My site is called Enchanted Serendipity. I called it this because they are my two favourite words and Serendipity means ‘a fortunate accident’ so there is something really enchanting about that. My site focuses on the usual travel related content, however I have a big passion for visiting filming locations so a lot of my content centers on this, which sets it apart from other travel bloggers.

3. Why should people check out your travel blog?

I have experienced a lot. Whether you love the USA as much as I do, or want to explore the UK or Europe or Australia; I offer some really interesting experiences across the globe rather than just one place. And these experiences vary from budget travel concepts to living abroad.

4. How long have you been blogging?

I officially started my site in mid 2014, so it’s been about 18 months.

5. Why did you decide you want to be a travel blogger?

I had a lot of people asking me for advice on what to see, and where to go when they planned trips. After writing the same emails over and over i knew I was best to put it all in one place and have it be accessible to all.

6. What is the hardest part about being a travel blogger?

Finding the time to write. With work, catching up with people and other obligations…it is NOT an easy task. There is never enough time in the day!

7. And what is the best part about being a travel blogger?

Sharing my experiences. Having people see what I have done and inspiring them to do the same.

8. What are the top three things you always bring with you in your travels?

Camera, Phone and Laptop. Always ready to capture what I see, and of course back it up on computer (just in case!) Plus my hard drive is full of movies and tv so I can never get bored.

9. What is the craziest thing you’ve done while traveling?

Doing a 3 lap ride along in a NASCAR on the Las Vegas Speedway. It was insane! The G Force made me feel a little seedy…but the speed was intense! I also spent Christmas Day 2014 at Disneyland Paris with my sister. That was a pretty crazy Christmas day!

10. Do you have another travel blogger you get inspiration from? Who is it and what is the name of their blog? How does this person inspire you?

I have many bloggers I am inspired by, it is really hard to just name one. Ultimately I gain inspiration from all different sites because I am pretty well-rounded and have done so much, so different bloggers offer me different things. We can all learn from many different people which this has shown me.

11. Share to us your best travel advice?

Plan ahead! Whether it is an itinerary, tour, place to visit, opening times of an attraction…you don’t miss out on anything if you know what you want for the experience and don’t want to miss out of course!

12. Where was your last travel destination?

Tell us all about it! I just came back from 10 days in New Zealand. I am 30 and have never been until now. It blew me away. The scenery alone and the differences between the two islands was mind blowing. Just incredible! Go there immediately!

13. Where are you going next? What are you most looking forward to on this trip?

I am moving to Vancouver so I will be planning for that. It is a 2 year working holiday. But  hope to go back to London and visit friends from that recent working holiday and of course see some of the states too. But Canada is the main plan for now which I am excited about.
