Five songs on my travel playlist

Take my Hand by The Cab

Favourite line:

“Calm your nerves now

And don’t worry, just breathe

Are you sure now?

Don’t bother packing just leave.

(All of them) said they wanted change

I hope that you remain the same.”

What this song means to me/Why I love this song:

When you are feeling scared to do something like move halfway across the world or if you are second guessing yourself about something you have decided to do, sometimes it is nice to know that there is that one person who believes that you can do it and will be there for you all the way. So, go! Take that leap of faith. Your person will be your biggest fan.

I Lived by OneRepublic

Favourite line:

“I owned every second that this world could give

I saw so many places, the things that I did

With every broken bone, I swear I lived.”

What this song means to me/Why I love this song:

This song is just so inspiring. It just gives you that push you need to just do it. Leave all your fears or hesitations behind. There is no room for that. Go to that place you said you’ll never step your foot on, go skydiving, just freakin’ do it already! It will all be worth it. Live your life now!

I Want You to Know by Zedd feat. Selena Gomez

Favourite line:

“I want you to know that it’s our time

You and me bleed the same light.”

“But did you know did you know did you know?

That’s anybody else that’s met ya

It’s all the same all the same all the same glow.”

What this song means to me/Why I love this song:

After joining Global Degree‘s contest, I have suddenly surrounded myself with hundreds of girls who are passionate about traveling. In addition (at around the same time), I also met Curtis of The Wanderscribe who has always been a source of inspiration for me. These people keep me going. Because of them, I am continuously working hard to achieve my dream to travel and write. This song is dedicated to them. This song is for us: the wanderlust generation.

Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey

Favourite line:

“Just a small town girl

Livin’ in a lonely world

She took the midnight train goin’ anywhere

Just a city boy

Born and raised in South Detroit

He took the midnight train goin’ anywhere.”

What this song means to me/Why I love this song:

This song reminds me of the people I have met during my travels. People from all over the world with different backgrounds who, in a short amount of time, have made a huge impact in my life. Travel really does open up your world through this opportunity to meet strangers. Life takes you by surprise by bringing people into your life who you did not know you need. I am so grateful to have met all the people I have met during my travels. They all have taught me lessons and touched my life in one way or another.

Taralets by Imago

Favourite line:

“Wag kang mabibigla (do not be surprised)

Isasama kita (I will bring you along)

Wag ka magtanong (do not ask)

Basta sumama ka lang (just come with me).”

“Wag mong pigilan (don’t hold back)

Sulitin at sumama (just come and it will be worth it)*.”

“Bitiwan ang duda (let go of doubt)

Bigla kang sumabay (go with it)*.”

*Unsure of translation, I did my best 😛

What this song means to me/Why I love this song:

It is such an upbeat song which really pumps you up before your trip. Taralets is a slang term in Filipino which means “Let’s go!” This song is dedicated to all my readers and anyone who wants to follow or join me in my journey and adventures. Everyone is invited to come and I hope I inspire you to start your own adventure, too!
