Sometimes, I wonder…why do I travel? I have a minimum-wage job, a $40,000 student loan, a car to pay for another three years, and other bills to pay. How do I get by and still afford to travel? Why don’t I just save that money I would use to travel? The answer is simple— I don’t know.
It seems to me that most of the questions I ask myself the past few months get an answer of “I don’t know”. I am depressed because it would already be a year since I graduated from university and still do not have a career in a field that I dreamt about or I have no idea of what I want to do with my life.
All I know is that whenever I plan a trip to go somewhere, it makes me feel alive, like I have a purpose. I always get this magical feeling that I only feel whenever I book a flight, or a show, or pack my suit case. It makes me feel happy.
I pay off my bills and my debt with whatever I get from my retail job but I also make it a point to put money towards my travel fund or also save money for my future or for rainy days. I have no idea how I make it happen but I do.
I still wish to get my career started soon. I am hoping someone would give me a shot but for the meantime, I am looking forward to my new adventure in New York City as I celebrate my 24th birthday from July 1-9!
On that note, I booked my ticket to watch Matilda the Musical at the Shubert Theatre. This is going to be my first ever Broadway show and I am so excited I get to watch it on my birthday!
I feel you! Hahaha, looking forward on your travel photos. 🙂
Ahhhh ate Javie, thanks! 🙂
