If you want to travel the world, you have to know how to budget. Traveling could mean spending a lot of money but that doesn’t mean you have to be rich to travel.
With a good financial plan, discipline, flexibility and a whole lot of travel hacks, you could visit all the places on your bucket list without breaking the bank!
Three Travel Hacks Everyone Should Know
1) Travel during shoulder or off-season. This will depend when the off season is for a destination. For example, New Zealand’s off-season is June to August since it’s winter there. The shoulder period is right before and after their winter.
2) Be patient and diligent when searching for travel deals. Set up alerts using your favourite travel app or with Google Flights to see when prices drop. Keep an eye on booking sites for when hotel rooms are discounted. If you are willing to put in the work to research and wait for the deals, you’ll usually find a really great price. 3) Explore alternative routes when flying. You may find you can save several hundred dollars if you drive or take a train to a bigger airport instead of going with your local airport. If you are traveling with people, search for one ticket at a time to see if it lowers the cost. Be willing to search for connecting flights. You may be able to use reward miles from your departure location to another location and then take a cheaper flight to your final destination.
